MEADOWS - Vance Clifford Meadows, age 86, of Brighton, CO, passed away on November 3, 2010 in Thornton, CO. He was born September 19, 1924 to Fred and Martha (Mullins) Meadows in Sandstone, WV on September 19, 1924. He attended high school in West Virginia and then attended numerous universities in obtaining his degree in Prosthetics. Vance has lived in the Brighton, Colorado area since 1972. He owned and operated Meadows Orthopedic in Denver, Colorado until his retirement in May 1996. His specialty was building prosthetics for children. In his free time, Vance loved to hunt, fish and camp. He was also an avid hat collector. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Brighton, CO; children, Jane Holton on Kilgore, TX, Clifford Meadows of Boise, ID, Gaye Patterson of Cody, WY, Frank (Debra) Meadows of Ft. Lupton, CO, Jeannie (Rock) Eckhardt of Casper, WY, Marggie (Lenny) Buss of Boise, ID, and Joyce (Mark) Scruggs of Powell, WY; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Vance was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home.
