He was born in Crawford County, PA on May 13, 1936. He graduated from Sharon High School, Sharon, PA, then attended Pennsylvania Military College. He went on to serve as an officer in the US Army and retired as a Major. After retiring from the military, Mr. Peterson worked for both the US Department of Agriculture and the US Department of Labor as the Assistant Inspector General for Audit, retiring from the Department of Labor in 1994. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Margaret (Margie) Lawrence; two sons, Michael Peterson of Annapolis, MD and Steven Peterson and wife Elizabeth of Millersville, MD; a daughter, Keri Peterson and her husband Lance Isaacs of Wauwatosa, WI; granddaughters, Sarah Peterson, Rachel Peterson, Emily Peterson and Drew Isaacs; and two step-grandchildren, Jacob Isaacs and Emily Isaacs. Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Peterson and mother, Alice Peterson; brothers, Norman Peterson and Donald Peterson; and sister, Eunice McMaster. There will be a Celebration of Life held Saturday, May 20th, 1:00PM at the Severna Park United Methodist Church, where he was a member, 731 Benfield Rd., Severna Park, MD 21146. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the (www.heart.org) or (www.michaeljfox.org).1 |
