Born on March 17, 1923 , in Summers County, he was the son of the late Charles & Rosa Lilly Burdette.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lucille in 2015; daughter & son in law, Sandy and Doug Fox; son, Stanley Clarence; two sisters, Margaret McKinney and Wilma Surbaugh; brothers, Earl, Charles and Ray.
Clarence was a retired heavy equipment operator from Leckie Smokeless Coal Company, 70+ year member of UMWA District 17. He was a WW II veteran, 871st and 880th Airborne Engineers in the Pacific Theatre.

He was born October 24, 1930, in Meadow Bridge, WV, a son of the late Charles A., Sr., and Rosa Garnet (Lilly) Burdette. His wife, Anna Mae (Fox) Burdette, his son, Curtis Burdette, a daughter, Wilma Surbaugh, brothers, Earl, and Ray, and a sister, Margaret McKinney, also preceded him in death.

He was a retired storeroom clerk from Kaiser Aluminum, and member of the United Steelworkers Union, Local #5668. He was a Baptist, a member of the VFW, the Moose Lodge, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trading.

Survivors include his son, Larry Burdette of Fostoria, OH; daughters, Angela “Kay” Huddleston of Ravenswood, Missy Allen of Louisville, KY, and Carolyn Baker and Shirley Burdette, both of Fostoria, OH; brothers, Delmar Burdette of Danese, WV, and Clarence Burdette of Meadow Bridge, WV; sister, Madelyn Williams of Meadow Bridge, and nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, WV, with the Rev. Gerald B. Sayre officiating. Burial will follow in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville. Visitation will be one hour prior to time of service.3,4

Delmore was a US Air Force veteran and a member of the Green Valley Methodist Church of Danese. He also had worked 11 years for the Fayette County Board of Education.
Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Lula Belle Bragg Burdette of Danese; son, Chris (Bev) Burdette; 2 grandchildren, Christy (Gary) Spangler and Chad (Bryanna) Burdette; 3 great grandchildren, Colton Burgess, Alyssa Lilly and Bryson Burdette; sister, Madeline Williams and several nieces and nephews.
