Mrs. Burdette came to this city several months ago from Laurel Creek and was making her home with Mrs. Adkins. She is survived by two daughters.
Funeral and burial arrangements have not been announced"

Martha's death certificate does not list her parents but notes that she was divorced at time of death. The informant was "Carel?" Adkins, Hinton, WV (this may be the "Mrs Al Adkins" in Martha's obituary.3,4 
Burial*28 Aug 1924 Her body was interred on 28 Aug 1924 at Hinton, Summers Co, WV, at Hilltop Cemetery.4 
Research Note* The identification of the Martha Burdette who died in 1924 in Hinton as Martha J. Spears Burdette is based on the mention of her coming "several months ago from Laurel Creek." Martha was living with or near her daughter Rosa Burdette Keatley at Laurel Creek in Fayette Co, but Rosa died in May 1924, or 3 months prior to Martha's death. This suggests that Martha left Laurel Creek after her daughter died. Her obituary also notes that she was living with "Mrs. Al Adkins" in Hinton. In the 1920 census of Laurel Creek, Fayette Co, the family of "Elleck" Adkins ("Alec?") was enumerated 4 households from that of Rosa Burdette Keatley. This may be the "Mrs Al Adkins" mentioned in Martha's obituary.
