"Adam Losh, father of R. M. Losh, died at his home in LaPorte, Michigan, yesterday, and the remains will be brought to this city on the noon train tomorrow, and buried in the Cemetery at old St. John."
It seems more likely that Adam died in LaPorte, Hubbard Co, MN rather than MI and that the newspaper misreported. LaPorte, MN would have been a day's train ride, but not likely MI. Further research is needed to determine which child he was living with at the time.⁵
