Homer M. “Buddy” Withrow, 83, of Galatia, and formerly of Chebanse, passed away Wednesday (Aug. 29, 2018) at Linda White Hospice in Evansville, Ind.
He was born Sept. 27, 1934, in Charleston, W. Va., the son of Homer W. and Thelma M. (Rayhill) Withrow. Homer married Mary Ann Schafer in Chebanse on Aug. 22, 1959. She survives.
In addition to his wife, surviving are two daughters, Jane Withrow, of Long Beach, Calif., and Tena (Michael) Peterson, of Eldorado; three sons, Paul (Diane) Withrow, of Chebanse, Roger (Rita) Withrow, of Galatia, and Eric Withrow (fiancé Tracy), of Harrisburg; one brother, George Withrow, of West Virginia; two sisters, Kathryn Lanza, of Boston, Mass., and Garnet Campbell, of Florida; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, James, Ernest and Harold; and one sister, Gloria J. Fraser.
Mr. Withrow was a member of Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Chebanse. He drove a truck for Chebanse Ag Service.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Chebanse. Father Doug Hauber will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Chebanse.
