She married Leonard Lewis 8 November 1855. Leonard was born in SC 12 June 1834. Leonard was the son of Leonard Lewis Sr. and Sarah C. Williams. Leonard died 5 January 1884 in Simpson Co, KY, at 49 years of age.

She was listed as a resident in the census report in Simpson Co, KY, 1850. Age 14, b. TN.

Serena Patience Alderson and Leonard Lewis had the following children:

389 i. Biddie Ann⁸ Lewis was born in Simpson Co, KY 25 October 1856. Biddie died 11 June 1896 in Simpson Co, KY, at 39 years of age.

390 ii. Benjamin Franklin Lewis was born in Simpson Co, KY 17 July 1861.

391 iii. Mary Susan Lewis was born in Simpson Co, KY 18 July 1864. Mary died 22 March 1927 in Simpson Co, KY, at 62 years of age.

392 iv. Richard H. Lewis was born in Simpson Co, KY 21 March 1867.

393 v. Jeremiah L. Lewis was born in Simpson Co, KY 7 November 1870.

394 vi. Laura Lewis was born in Simpson Co, KY 15 June 1871. Laura died 19 August 1872 in Simpson Co, KY, at 1 year of age.

395 vii. Lou Ida Lewis was born in Simpson Co, KY 31 October 1872. Lou died April 1910 in Simpson Co, KY, at 37 years of age.
