In the name of God Amen, the 15th day of September Anno 1695, I, Richard ALDERSON of the county of Lancaster, being sick and weak in body but of good and perfect memory, thanks be to Almighty God, and calling to remembrance the uncertainty of the estate of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield unto death when it shall please Almighty God to ?, I do make, con- stitute, ordain, and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following: revoking and adnuling by those present all and every testament and testaments, will and wills--heretofore by me made and declared either by word or by writing, and this is to be taken only for my last will and testament and none other, and first being penitent and sorry from the bottom of my heart for my sins past I most humbly desiring forgiveness for the same, I give and commit my soul unto Almighty God my Saviour and Redeemer in whom and by the merits of Jesus Christ I trust and believe assuredly to be saved and to have full remission and forgiveness of all my sins and that my soul with my body at the general day of resurrection shall rise again and with joy, and through the merits of Christ's death and passion possess and inherit the Kingdom of Heaven prepared for this elect and chosen, and my body to be buried in such place where it shall please my executors hereafter named to appoint and ? for the selling of my temporal estate and such goods, chattles, and debts as it hath pleased Almighty God far above my deserts to bestow upon me, and I do ? and dispose the same in the manner and form following, that is to say:

First, I will that all my debts and duties that I owe in right or ? to any manner of person or persons whatsoever shall be well and truly conte ed and paid or ordained to be paid within covenant time after my decease by my executors hereafter named.

? , My will is that Margret my wife shall be sole possessor and dispos- sesor of all and every part of what estate it hath pleased Almighty God to endue me with all during her life profinding that she nor her husband or any person or persons in their behalf by any means or instruments to ? or make waste of the said estate to any indominity to my children.

Item, My will is that after my wife's decease I give and bequeath unto my son John one parcell of land binding upon Mr. Thomas Chattham and Mr. John Mott containing the quantity of eighty three acres as doth appear by a pattin dated the fourth day of April Anno Domi 1695. Item, I give and bequeath all the rest of my whole estate, chattle, and chattles after the decease of my wife as aforesaid unto my son Richard if please God he ? and if in case it should please God to take Richard out of this mortal life then my will is that it [smudge] from hand to hand altho it is my will that and if my son Richard [smudge]-tiful to his mother that he shall possess and ? ?????? and in case he ? then my will is that it shall ? to the next ? only ? one cow and calf and a cod and blanket ? a rugg which I give and bequeath unto George Clark out of the aforesaid promises, and also one ? mare branded with my own brand and one cow and calf which I give and bequeath unto my grandaughter Ann Aldersson out of the aforesaid premises as aforesaid also I give and bequeath unto my grandaughter Margret Alderson one cow and calf out of the aforesaid . Also my will is that there be five hundred pounds of tobacco disbursed on the ? of paying for five yards ? for John Lanham's farm to John Lanham out of the aforesaid estate. Also I give and bequeath unto my grandaughter Mary Alderson five hundred pounds of tobacco out of the aforesaid estate, and lastly I do hereby ordain and order, constitute and appoint Mr. Thomas Chattin and Mr. Randolph Miller executors of this my last will and testament. Wittness wherof I have here unto set my hand and fixed my seal the day and year above written.
