Dunwreathe Fern Skeens Johnson, age 99, formerly of Roanoke passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 in Beckley, WVA. She was born April 18, 1912 the daughter of the late James O. Skeens and Beatrice Martin Skeens. Her husband, Emory Holten Johnson and her son, James R. Johnson, preceded her in death. She was a longtime member of Waverly Place Baptist Church in Roanoke and Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church in Beckley, WVA. Surviving are one son, Robert L. Johnson and his wife, Shirley of Beckley, WVA; special grandson, David Michael Johnson and wife, Cindy; six other grandchildren; five great grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.
