Biography* Baltzer Helvey married Delilah, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Bibb. He was a renowned blacksmith of the mid-Loop area. He owned a part of the James Kelly tract on Arbuckle Creek. His cabin and blacksmith shop were on the Bluestone Road at the present Tully Tourist Home site in Oak Hill. He sold this place to Allan Huddleston in 1844 and removed to a location about a mile and a half out on Salem Road, later known as the Tom Elliott place and now occupied by Bob Mullins. In 1849, Helvey served on committees of road viewers appointed by the court to locate roads in different parts of the Loop.2

Oak Hill Pioneer Dead
Milton C. Bibb died Thursday, February 16, 1939 in Daytona Beach, Fla. He would have been 91 on April 21, 1939.
His grandfather was Charles Bibb of Amherst Co, VA. In 1829, Charles and his wife Elizabeth (Gatewood) Bibb came to Bowyer's Ferry, now Sewell, WVa. and lived there eight years running the ferry. In 1838 he purchased a 300 acre tract at what now is Gatewood. They had eight children, including four sons: Cary, Martin, W.L. and Benjamin. Cary was the father of Milton C. Milton's mother Nancy (Duncan) Bibb was the daughter of John Duncan, and Cary and his wife were first cousins. Milton lived all his life in Gatewood except for a short time in Kansas, and in 1938 moved to Florida.
Mr. Bibb was married four times. His first wife was Minerva Blake, sister to the late William Blake of Oak Hill, and they had four children: Mrs. Minnie Lego of Red Star, widow of William Lego; Lud Bibb; Ira Bibb; and John Bibb. Another child died young. John was an electrician in the Carlisle mines.
His second wife was Mrs. Melissa Wilkerson of Teay's Valley. They had one child, Annie, wife of G.E. Rhodes of Charleston.
His third wife was Sarah Sweeney, daughter of Wilson Sweeny. They had one child, George W. Bibb, of Oak Hill.
His fourth wife was Sadie J. Kincaid, with children Mrs. Clarissa Anderson, wife of Rev. James A. Anderson of Daytona Beach, Fla; Marjorie Alma Bibb Wetherall of Daytona Beach, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters; George W. Bibb; Mrs. G.E. Rhodes, and Mrs. Minnie Lego. Burial will be at High Lawn..7,8,9,1
