Born August 02, 1914 at Dothan, WV she was the daughter of the late Everett and Naomi Payne Coleman.

Mrs. Davis was a member of the Fairview Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Her husband, Vaden Roy Davis; son, Vaden "Chick" Davis; one brother, Arlie Gene Coleman and two sisters, Delphia Evans and Rosemary Wriston preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Roger Davis of Dothan; former daughter-in-law, Marjorie Davis of Oak Hill; two sisters, Lessie Wriston of Oak Hill and Dana Wriston of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Keith Davis of Tyro, VA, Amanda Davis of Oak Hill and Joseph Davis of Kenly, NC and four great grandchildren, Jacob, Danielle, Maci and Paisley.

There will be no visitation or service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children - KY, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington KY 40502.

Dana G. Coleman Wriston, 96, of Fayetteville, died Jan. 27, 2015, at the Camden-Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg.

Born Nov. 2, 1918, in Fayette County, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Naoma Payne Coleman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Perry Wriston; daughters, Connie Amos and Glendora Burchette; grandson, David Burchette; sisters, Rosemary Wriston, Delphia Evans and Bonnie Davis; brother, Arlie Coleman; and sons-in-law, Jim Tincher, Glenn Burchette and Lloyd Newbanks.

She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, where she was very active as a certified lay speaker for many years and was a delegate to the West Virginia Methodist Conference in Buckhannon for several years.

She and her husband also pastored several churches over their 25 years of ministry together.

She was also a member of the Senior Circle Plateau Chapter in Oak Hill, Senior Citizens Group of Oak Hill and the Care Givers Group in Oak Hill.

Surviving: daughters, Judith Newbanks of Phoenix, Ariz. and Patsy Tincher of Parkersburg; son, Perry (Elaine) Wriston of Mineral Wells; son-in-law, Wayne Amos of Mineral Wells; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lessie Wriston of Oak Hill.

Services were Jan. 31 at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Chaplain Dave Kaufman officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

CARLISLE - G. Desota Evans, 95, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at The Summit at Hidden Valley, Oak Hill, following a long illness. Born July 5, 1906, in Westerly, he was the son of the late Jack and Rosa Scott Burnside Evans. Mr. Evans was a retired coal miner for Milburn Colliery and a member of Fairview Methodist Church and the United Mine Workers of America. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Evans; and three daughters, Gloria Parker, Jewel Jarvis of Welch and Alice Dembercky of Chicago. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include his wife, Verna Delphia Coleman Evans; five daughters, Margaret Newbanks of Marietta, Ohio, Mary Blake of Springfield, Mo., Shirley Gamble and Verna Clark, both of Ridgedale, Mo., and Brenda Mrozek of Conyers, Ga; 28 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 3:30 p.m. today at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Betty Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. Friends may call 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements by Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill.2
