Maydell G. Burdette, 81 of Hilldale, died at 12:42 p.m. Thursday May 3, 2018 at her home following a short illness.

Born April 9, 1937 at Green Sulphur Springs, she was the daughter of the late Willie Earl and Mildred Marion Ayers.

Ms. Burdette was a homemaker and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 42 years, Glispy Burdette, two brothers, Dallas Ayers and Elmer Ayers.

Left to cherish her memory are her five children; Mary Bragg Gill and husband Rick of Talcott, Debbie Gwinn Lester and husband Dennis of Chicago, IL, Chuck Gwinn and wife Sherry of Hinton, John Burdette and wife Samantha of Man, WV and Patricia Burdette Moore and husband Jesse of Hinton. Four sisters and two brothers, Jerri Turner and husband Donald, Alice Ayers, Josephine Ayers and husband Bertie (BJ), Harvey Ayers and wife Sharon and Franklin Ayers and wife Delores. Her beloved grandchildren, Beverly Bragg Walker and husband Ernie, Calvin Bragg, III, Cassie Bragg Benette and husband Stuart, Crystal Gill, Victoria Lester, Brittany Cline, Dana Whitaker Hammons and husband Michael, Demi Whitaker, Amy McDonald Rose and husband Joe, Josh Burdette, Becca Griffin, Nathan Griffin and Chandra Browning. Her cherished 14 great grandchildren. She also loved her honorary daughters, Bonnie Harrah and Nicole Duval and Gracie Meadows.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 7, 2018 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton. Burial will follow in the Clay Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.2
