The funeral for George Harrison Treadway Jr., 91, of Martinsville and formerly of Rocky Mount, who died March 31, 2011, will be at 1 p.m. today at Flora Funeral Chapel in Rocky Mount. The Revs. Carlos Lewis and Bennie Dodson will officiate. Burial will be in the family cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter Dottie Stump, 1080 Bonbrook Mill Road, Rocky Mount.
He was born May 29, 1919, in Fayatte County, W.Va., to Ida and George Treadway Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ollie Kidd Treadway, and second wife, Lenore Jarrett Treadway; three brothers; and one sister.
Surviving, in addition to his daughter, are his children, Rita Arritt, Gary Treadway, Brenda Smith of Martinsville, Eva Jane Buttrick, Pam Moore, George Treadway III, Nova Inman and Helbert Treadway; 30 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Franklin County.8,9
