Death*27 Jun 2009 Dorothy died on 27 Jun 2009 at Seminole, Pinellas Co, FL. SEMINOLE, Fla. — Dorothy Worrell Brooks, 91, of Seminole, passed away June 27, 2009.

Dorothy was born in Elkview, West Virginia, daughter of the late Okey Withrow and Effie Strickland Withrow.

She moved to Seminole in 1961 with her husband Carroll (1972) from Mullens, W.Va. Along with her husband, they owned Worrell of Toys. Dorothy married Emerson Brooks in 1988. She was a member of Seminole First Baptist Church; was an avid gardner and raised Monarch butterflies.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Carolyn Worrell, Carson City, Nev. and Tom Worrell, Miami, Fla; brothers, Paul Withrow of Florida, Charles and Herb Withrow of West Virginia; sisters, Alvie Shafer and Mattie Shafer of West Virginia, and Marie Groot of Florida; many nieces and nephews and loving friends.

Dorothy touched many lives with her kindness and generosity.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Moss-Feaster Funeral Home Chapel, Largo, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Mission, P.O. Box 112, Charleston, WV 25321.
