Pilma Gollihugh 11/3/2004 (Publication Date) Nov. 9, 1922 -- Nov. 2, 2004 BEAUFORT -- Pilma Withrow Gollihugh, 81, of Beaufort, widow of James Anderson Gollihugh, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Born in Gatewood, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Elijah and Maude Snyder Withrow. She was a member of Port Royal Baptist Church, where she was active in her praise group and Oasis Group as well as church activities and Naomi Single adult Sunday school class. She was vice commander and life member of the DAV, she worked 40 years as a volunteer for March of Dimes. She was a volunteer for Beaufort Memorial Hospital and was a member and treasurer of Beaufort Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a self-employed seamstress, worked at the Treasure Chest in Beaufort, Beaufort County Council on Aging for 22 years, was one of the founders of the Brenda Arts & Crafts Club III, and was an active member of the Brenda Coffee Club. She was awarded Book of Golden Deeds by the Beaufort Exchanger Club of Beaufort. Surviving are son, Thomas E. Gollihugh of Seabrook; daughters, Pat Franks, Sandra Voegeli, Drema Brantley and Gail Clark, all of Beaufort; stepdaugther, Mary Miano of Aiken; sisters, Charlotte Johnson of Arizona, Thelma Irwin of Michigan and Zelpha Matheny of Virginia; brothers, Glen Withrow of Texas, Ivan Withrow of Michigan and Jack Withrow of Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by stepson, James A. Gollihugh Jr; three brothers, Kenneth, Charles and Dean Withrow; and two sisters, Lura Weed and Eva Haney. Services are at 11 a.m. Friday in Port Royal Baptist Church; burial will be in Beaufort Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Funeral Home.
