Tombstone, aged 46 yrs., 7 mos., 26 days His body was interred in German Twp, Clark Co, OH, Callison Cemetery.⁽⁹⁾

He married Sarah Milhollen in Bath Co, VA, 26 November 1800. Sarah was born in VA ca 1779. Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Milhollen and Jane McClintic. She was listed as a resident in the census report in German Twp, Clark Co, OH, 1820.⁽¹⁰⁾ Assumed from female age 26-45 in household.

A census listed Sarah as head of household in German Twp, Clark Co, OH, 1830.⁽¹¹⁾ Sarah was age 50-60.

He moved 1804 in Champaign Co, OH. Jeremiah and family may have settled in what became German Township of Clark Co., OH, which was formed from Champaign Co, OH in 1817.

Jeremiah served in the military in OH. Captain in the War of 1812.

A census listed Jeremiah as head of household in German Twp, Clark Co, OH, 1820.⁽¹²⁾ Jeremiah was engaged in "manufacturing" in this census. Given his family history, he was likely a gunsmith or blacksmith. He had 2 free colored and one slave in his household. Jeremiah appears to have had 6 children at home, 5 males and one female: 2 males under 10, 1 10-16, 2 16-26, and female 10-16.

18 i. William³ Sims was born est 1805. A census listed William as head of household in German Twp, Clark Co, OH, 1830.⁽¹³⁾ Enumerated next door to Sarah Simms, and assumed to be her son. In the Callison Cemetery, however, where Jeremiah is buried, there is a burial of a William Sims, d. 1822, age 22, based on a transcription found at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Garden/3458/Townships/German/Callison.htm. If this is correct, and he is Jeremiah's son, then the William in the 1830 census cannot be identified.

19 ii. Jeremiah Sims was born 1813. Jeremiah died November 1830 in German Twp, Clark Co, OH, at 17 years of age. Tombstone, aged 17 yrs., 2 mos., 21 days. His body was interred in German Twp, Clark Co, OH, Callison Cemetery.⁽¹⁴⁾
