31. Josiah⁵ Alderson (Jeremiah⁴, John³, Richard², Richard¹) was born in Lunenburg Co, VA 15 April 1783.⁽⁷⁷⁾ Josiah died 12 August 1849 in Henry Co, TN, at 66 years of age.⁽⁷⁸⁾ His body was interred in Paris, Henry Co, TN, City Cemetery.⁽⁷⁹⁾

He married twice. He married Alley Estes in Lunenburg Co, VA, 12 July 1803.⁽⁸⁰⁾ Bond dated 11 July 1803; Elisha Estes, surety.

He married Mrs. Mary Walker in TN, 1826.⁽⁸¹⁾ Mary was born in NC ca 1801. A census listed Mary as head of household in Henry Co, TN, 1850.

A census listed Josiah as head of household in Lunenburg Co, VA, 1810.⁽⁸²⁾ A census listed Josiah as head of household in Henry Co, TN, 1840.⁽⁸³⁾

Josiah Alderson and Alley Estes had the following child:

Josiah Alderson and Mrs. Mary Walker had the following children:

74 ii. Lucius H. Alderson was born est 1830. He married Elizabeth Smith in Henry Co, TN, 11 November 1853.⁽⁸⁴⁾ There is no evidence demonstrating Lucius's parents to be Josiah and Mary Alderson. The connection is based solely on marriage in Henry Co., TN.

75 iii. John Alderson was born in TN ca 1833. A census listed John as head of household in Henry Co, TN, 1850. Age 17, no family listed. Identification of John's parents as Josiah and Mary is not proven, but based on enumeration with Joseph Alderson, age, and that Josiah had died prior to census.

76 iv. Michael Alderson was born ca 1838. He was listed as a resident in the census report in Henry Co, TN, 1850.
