E. W. Alderson, farmer, Section 8, Post Office Crestline, was born in Illinois in 1842. He received a liberal education and after farming in Illinois for one year went to California and was in the butcher business 7 years there and then returned to Illinois and reamined for 6 months and then went to Kansas in 1869. He located on his present farm of 160 acres, which he bought and improved and now raises grain and stock with a fine assortment of fruits of all kinds. He is an Odd Fellow and a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was Justice of the Peace for 2 years. He was married to Miss M. E. Rafferty of Illinois in 1868.
