He married twice. He married Rachel Davenport in Richmond Co, VA, 31 January 1787. Rachel was born in Lancaster Co, VA. Rachel is the daughter of Fortunatus Davenport. He married Elizabeth Snyder Coleman in Richmond Co, VA, 5 January 1803.⁽³¹⁾ Elizabeth was born in Northumberland Co, VA 1780.
