She is not listed in the 1860 Barry Co., Missouri census but did have another child, Laura E. Must have died somewhere between Laura being born and the 1860 census.

He married Malinda Doss in Barry Co, MO, 5 August 1860. Malinda was born in "Missing Place" no. 3118 about 1841. Malinda was the daughter of Samuel Labin Doss and Mary Ann Wilkerson. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Carroll Co, AR, 1870. A census listed Malinda as head of household in Carroll Co, AR, 1900. In the 1860 census, Barry Co., Missouri, Malinda is listed as being 18 and born in Kentucky. She is listed with her father and mother, but it is known that in August 1860 she married Armstead Alderson. She was not listed with him and his family in the 1860 census. In the 1870 census, Prairie Township, Carroll Co., Arkansas, Malinda is listed as being 30 years old, keeps house, and born in Kentucky.

Listed as living next to William "Anderson" which is his son. Date of census 13 Aug 1870. On 5 Aug 1860 Armstead Alderson of Shoal Creek Township, married Malinda Doss of Liberty Township in Barry Co., Missouri by S.L. Harkins.
