2. Samuel Mark2 Alderson (Jesse Beaulieu1)(1) was born in KY ca 1817. Samuel died December 1885 in Madison Co, AR, at 68 years of age.(2)
He married twice. He married Scyntha Estella Brown ca 1845. Scyntha died in MO. According to Malissa Phillips, friend and former neighbor of Scyntha Brown Alderson, as cited by Ida Ethel Alderson Roberson, Scyntha and Samuel separated about 1856. She and her infant son went to her family in Missouri. Scyntha died after Samuel, leaving her estate to her youngest living child, Newton H. He did not go accept it as he feared it would cause resentment on the part of his older brothers.
This contradicts other family stories about Cynthia, which state that she died before the Civil War. Samuel died in 1885, so Scynthia would have died after that date. Perhaps this is more likely given the story of a later neighbor.
He married Elizabeth Seay in AR. Elizabeth was born in VA ca 1836.(3) Surname also spelled "See".

From a letter written by Mary Elinor Alderson Hamilton, daughter of Newton Hezekiah Alderson, and granddaughter of Samuel Mark Alderson, dated 2 Jan 1969, written to Ruby Hamilton Phillips, daughter. At the time she was 88 years of age, and aliving in the Regis, a retirement hotel, in Waco, TX: "....now, as far as I know, my Daddy's Daddy died on a farm near Hindsville, Ark., on Glade Creek, just above where Doyl and Velma live now. I was a small child, 3 or 4 years old. But I do remember seeing Grandpa. He had a long white beard, and died with pneumonia. But don't know any farther about Daddy's mother, only she died when Daddy was small and her name was Syntha Brown. There were some COLLINS that lived at Belton, Tex. that wrote me a letter a long time ago, said he knew when she died and was at her funeral, and said I was his cousin--but that's been so long ago, guess they are all dead now, he was old then...said he had a big family of boys..."
