697. Andrew Jackson⁵ Withrow (Thomas⁴, Hannah³ Alderson, Thomas², John¹)⁽²⁰⁴³⁾ was born in Greenbrier Co, VA 27 February 1825. Andrew died 30 March 1903 at 78 years of age.

He married Mary Melissa Briggs in IN, 16 May 1852.⁽²⁰⁴⁴⁾

He moved 1844 in IN.⁽²⁰⁴⁵⁾ He moved 1853 in St Joseph, Buchanan Co, MO.⁽²⁰⁴⁶⁾ A census listed Andrew as head of household in MO, 1880.⁽²⁰⁴⁷⁾

I went back to my source material and found Josiah wrote it May 11, 1921. Josiah's mother died shortly after his birth and he lived with his grandparents, Andrew J. and Mary M, until he was about 10. I suppose that's when he obtained the information. He wrote the following at that time--1921:

"...Little is known of the early history of the family in this country, by the writer. Except that it is of English origin. And that three brothers migrated from England to France; thence to America, landing in Jamestown, Va. in 1620. No definite record is obtainable from this date until about 1825. Thomas and Nancy Withrow lived in Greenbriar County, Virginia; now known as Greenbriar County West Virginia.

On February 27, 1825 a son was born, Andrew Jackson Withrow. The following is a correct record of his descendents:

Nancy died about 1831 and Thomas married Nancy Huggard in 1833 to whom three sons were born. I have no further record of them or their descendents.

In 1844 Andrew moved to Indiana where he married Mary Mellesa Briggs, May 16, 1852.

In the early spring of 1853 Andrew and Mary moved to St. Joseph, Mo...."

1621 iv. Malissa May Withrow was born in MO 22 September 1857. Malissa died 21 October 1858 at 1 year of age.

1622 v. Rufus Ray Withrow was born in MO 23 July 1859. Rufus died 09 October 1860 at 1 year of age.

1623 vi. Buell McNeil Withrow was born in MO 26 April 1862. Buell died 16 April 1900 at 37 years of age.

1624 vii. Wesley Walter Withrow was born in MO 28 January 1864. Wesley died 28 November 1864 at less than one year of age.

1625 viii. Oliver Briggs Withrow was born in MO 07 October 1865. Oliver died 28 August 1871 at 5 years of age.

1626 ix. Edward Newton Withrow was born in MO 27 February 1868. Edward died 21 September 1872 at 4 years of age.

1627 x. Andrew Jackson Withrow Jr was born in MO 16 May 1870. Andrew died 14 February 1914 at 43 years of age.

1628 xi. Evander Agee Withrow was born in MO 24 February 1873. Evander died 26 February 1898 at 25 years of age.
