He married three times. He married Nancy Coppock Jefferson Co, TN, 18 June 1840.⁽⁴⁷³⁾ Nancy was born 23 March 1811.⁽⁴⁷⁴⁾ Nancy died 1 August 1848 Union Co, TN, at 37 years of age.⁽⁴⁷⁵⁾ He married Louisa Brummett Clinton, Anderson Co, TN, 9 Nov 1848.⁽⁴⁷⁶⁾ Louisa was born ca 1821.⁽⁴⁷⁷⁾ (Additional notes for Louisa Brummett⁽⁴⁷⁸⁾) Louisa died 26 February 1896 in Jewell Co, KS, at 74 years of age.⁽⁴⁷⁹⁾ Her body was interred in Buffalo Twp, Jewell Co, KS, Wallace Cemetery.⁽⁴⁸⁰⁾ He married Mrs Lydia Garber in Jewell Co, KS, 7 October 1896.⁽⁴⁸¹⁾ Lydia was born 1835.⁽⁴⁸²⁾ Lydia died 18 April 1921 Fort Dodge, Ford Co, KS, at 85 years of age.⁽⁴⁸³⁾ Her body was interred in West Buffalo Twp, Jewell Co, KS, Jewell City Cemetery.⁽⁴⁸⁴⁾

Calaway served in the military Camp Nelson, KY, 1863. Sgt. Co B 11th Tenn Cavalry, noted on stone in Randall Cemetery, Jewell Co, KS

He applied for homestead land Concordia, Jewell Co, KS, 1869.⁽⁴⁸⁵⁾ Calaway was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Prairie Twp, Jewell Co, KS.⁽⁴⁸⁶⁾

479 ii. William Lafayette Alderson⁽⁴⁹⁰⁾ was born in Jefferson Co, TN 26 March 1843. William died 10 March 1864 at 20 years of age.

480 iii. Martha Ellen Charity Alderson⁽⁴⁹¹⁾ was born Jefferson Co, TN 21 September 1845. She married James H. Mead in Roane Co, TN, 21 April 1861.⁽⁴⁹²⁾ (Additional notes for James H. Mead⁽⁴⁹³⁾)
