Samuel was born in Meadow Bridge, Fayette Co, VA 1846.⁽³⁹⁴⁷⁾ Samuel was the son of Caleb W. Lively and Sidney Gwinn. Samuel died 1932 in Meadow Bridge, Fayette Co, VA, at 86 years of age.⁽³⁹⁴⁸⁾

She was listed as a resident in the census report in Fayette Co, VA, 1860.
