He married Malinda Slain in Hocking Co, OH, 28 December 1845.⁽⁵³³⁾ Malinda was born 22 Sep 1829. Malinda died 11 Jul 1903 in Allensville, Vinton Co OH, at 73 years of age.

Socrates Woltz and Malinda Slain had the following children:

546 v. Gelina (Jeferie?) Woltz was born in Hocking Co, OH 1856. She married Jacob Shockey.

547 vi. Levina Woltz was born in Hocking Co, OH January 1860. She married Alonzo Nixon.

548 vii. Flora Woltz was born in Hocking Co, OH 1863. She married Allen Remy.

549 viii. William Westley Woltz was born in Hocking Co, OH 1865. He married Ida Ziegler.

550 ix. Amos Alderson Woltz was born in OH 1867. He married Nora Ziegler.

551 x. Berton Woltz was born in Starr, Hocking Co OH 22 Mar 1871. He married Emma Davis.
