300. Albert Gallatin⁵ McClung (Alexander⁴, Jane³ Alderson, John², John¹) was born in Pool, Nicholas Co VA 1832. Albert died 31 December 1863 Confederate Prison, VA, at 31 years of age.

He married Melinda Hedrick in Greenbrier Co, VA, 14 July 1854. Melinda was born in Greenbrier Co, VA 1833. Melinda⁽¹³⁸³⁾ was the daughter of John Hedrick and Sarah Adwell. Melinda died 1921 Pool, Nicholas Co, WV, at 88 years of age. Her body was interred Pool, Nicholas Co, WV, Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

He was listed as a resident in the census report in Nicholas Co, VA, 1850. Albert Gallatin McClung was forced at gunpoint to join the Union Army. He was milking cows when vigilantes came. He died of measles in a confederate prison. He was in the Nicholas Co. Scouts. [Kathleen Jenkins, 1995]

His body was interred Pool, Nicholas Co, WV, Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

1190 ii. Polexnia "Peck" Jane McClung⁽¹³⁸⁶⁾ was born Mt. Lookout, Nicholas Co, VA 5 December 1856. Polexnia died 20 December 1947 in Fayette Co, WV, at 91 years of age. Her body was interred in Fayette Co, WV, Huse Memorial Park. She married Christopher Buchanan Champe in Nicholas Co, WV, 21 January 1874. Christopher was born Pool, Nicholas Co, WV 13 November 1850. Christopher⁽¹³⁸⁷⁾ was the son of Charles Lewis Champe and Cynthia Bell. Christopher died 22 August 1918 Jenky, Fayette Co, WV, at 67 years of age. His body was interred in Ansted, Fayette Co, WV, Legg Cem, Stringtown Rd.

1191 iii. Sarah "Sallie" McClung⁽¹³⁸⁸⁾ was born in Nicholas Co, VA 31 October 1859. Sarah died 1930 Montgomery, Fayette Co, WV, at 70 years of age. She married Fleming Wade Champe 26 January 1879. (Additional notes for Fleming Wade Champe⁽¹³⁸⁹⁾)

1192 iv. Margaret "Meg" Ann McClung⁽¹³⁹⁰⁾ was born in Nicholas Co, VA 12 November 1861. Margaret died 3 December 1946 in Nicholas Co, WV, at 85 years of age. She married Floyd O'Dell in Nicholas Co, WV, 4 December 1879. (Additional notes for Floyd O'Dell⁽¹³⁹¹⁾)
