He married Mary Ann 'Nannie' Tiffany in Monroe Co, WV, 4 Apr 1883.⁽¹²⁶⁸⁾ Mary was born in Union, Monroe Co VA 14 Sep 1860. Mary⁽¹²⁶⁹⁾ was the daughter of Hugh Snidow Tiffany and Susan McDaniel. Mary died after 1943.

28 March 1895: Mr. Walter W. Alderson, whose injuries at his home in Miles City, Montana were reported in these columns last week, died at 11 pm Wednesday, 20 March 1895. Mr. Alderson was a native of Greenbrier and was about 40 years old. He was a brother of Major J. Coleman Alderson of Wheeling and married Miss Nannie Tiffany of Union about 12 years ago. His wife and four children survive him.
