11. George³ Alderson (John², John¹) reference ALDEGE62 was born in Augusta Co, VA 30 Aug 1762. George died 1805 in Kanawha Co, VA, at 42 years of age.

He married Sarah Osborne in Greenbrier Co, VA, 14 Jun 1781.⁽¹⁴⁾ Sarah was born in Rockbridge Co, VA 1761. Sarah was the daughter of John Osborne and Elizabeth Claypool. Sarah died after 1822 in Monroe Co, VA. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Monroe Co, VA, 1810.

He bought property in Kanawha Co, VA, 22 March 1792.⁽¹⁵⁾ On the Great Kenhawa at the Burning Spring Bottom adjoining George Washington, Esqr. & John Dickersons Survey in the Burning Spring Bottom.

George's will was probated in Kanawha Co, VA, 12 Jun 1805.

Oren Morton, History of Monroe Co., WV, 1916, p. 299. Lists four of George's children: John, Levi, James O. and Polly. Notes that "George moved to Kanawha, where he was a justice. George's Creek was named for him."

C.N. Feamster, Data Requested by the Library of Congress to Accompany the Col. C.N. Feamster Manuscripts. (ca. 1940s?). He refers to a Family Bible with records of the children of John and Mary (Carroll) Alderson, but its present location is unknown. He notes "Joseph [Alderson] and his brother George sank salt wells in the Kanawha Valley about ten miles above Charleston, and prospered greatly therefrom."

The will of George Alderson was dated 13 May 1802 and proved 12 June 1805 in Kanawha Co. (Deed Bk. C, pp. 30-31). Mentioned in the will are: Joseph Alderson, brother John, son Mary, oldest daughter Catherine, daughter George, son Levi, son Joseph, son James, son Witnesses were: Gilbert Christian, William Bowman, and John Campbell. George Alderson and Sarah Osborne had the following children:

+ 45 ii. Mary Alderson was born 13 May 1787.

46 iii. Joseph Alderson was born in Kanawha Co, VA ca 1789. Joseph died after 1810. He married Polly McClung.

47 iv. Catherine Alderson was born in Kanawha Co, VA ca 1791. Catherine died 1823 in Greenbrier Co, VA, at 32 years of age. She married William Morris III. William was born 1775. William was the son of William Morris Jr and Catherine Carroll.

Catherine's will was probated in Greenbrier Co, VA, 8 Sep 1823.

48 v. George Alderson was born in Kanawha Co, VA ca 1793.

+ 49 vi. Levi Alderson was born ca 1795.

+ 50 vii. James Osborne Alderson was born October 1800.
