He married Ida Belle Kirby.⁽⁴⁴¹³⁾ Ida was born 24 July 1899.⁽⁴⁴¹⁴⁾ (Additional notes for Ida Belle Kirby⁽⁴⁴¹⁵⁾) Ida died 30 January 1990 in St Albans, Kanawha Co, WV, at 90 years of age.⁽⁴⁴¹⁶⁾ Her body was interred 1 February 1990 in Alderson, Greenbrier Co, WV, Fletcher Cemetery.⁽⁴⁴¹⁷⁾

Conflicting evidence states that Ira was born November 1892. He was listed as a resident in the census report in Talcott Dist, Summers Co, WV, 1900.
